Had the set and very good steamed fish n gindara
Kaiseki lunch was 5800 yen. I know sooo many other places in Kyoto that have better food for cheaper.
you need to make reservations in advance. it’s a famous/place for miso cod for a reason. the course meal is pretty good. my favorites were the appetizer sampler and the miso cod with rice. everything else was okay pretty decent. the service is amazingly good. nice atmosphere.
The miso cod is amazing. You should try it.
With that out of the way, the other food was amazing as well, a lot of variety and if you are a rice conniseur then you may appreciate that you rice is cooked in your individual pot. They somehow magically nailed the perfect balance between efficient service and warmth. The restaurant is traditional with tatami mats and private rooms are available.
I think this restaurant deserves higher ratings, the food and service is best in class. The ingredients are so fresh and well prepared, the atmosphere is nice. A lot of locals here. Would strongly recommend if you can get a reservation in advance.
Delicious food with seasonal ingredients. It's traditional kaiseki-style food, so several dishes with very unique flavors. They have an English menu, so go for it if you like it!
I was so lucky that I had the lunch there without reservation couple days ago. Absolutely the best meal in my Kyoto trip. I would buy the cod fish back to Hong Kong but the sales told me that I couldn't keep it long without a fridge.
Wonderful experience .
The hostesses trying their best to offer all of us a wonderful dinning experience. The food is the best we tasted in kyoto.
It was truly a very pleasant lunch. Spring menu give us a true taste of best kyoto can offer in spring. The perfect combination of Japanese culture and gourmet.
If we ever come back to kyoto. We will certainly return for their summer , autumn, and winter menu.
